Nostalgia: a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations.
The older one is the more nostalgic they become I suppose. So much more to look back on than lies ahead. Loved ones dead and gone. I find myself becoming more aware of the things that lie within me that remind me of my father or mother. Looking at old photos and wondering if the person I see looking back at me ever really existed. So many years in between. We forget who we were then, living solely in the present. But the images are real, capturing time, allowing me to step back and recall what life was like then, the people in my life at that time. Makes me wistful.

Thanks Brian. I always loved looking at old photos, but as time goes on the more meaningful they become. Wanting to recapture a slice of time. Glad you enjoyed seeing them too ❤

Thank you. That is my grandmother- she died when I was 17, but I fortunately have many memories of her as we were close.

Wow Lisa, thank you for sharing your memories, so precious. You are just as beautiful today my friend. I tend to drift back to the 1960’s, then the 1970’s and so on in my head too often. You are so right in saying that we really do forget who we were then. I’m 58 1/2 this month but who’s counting right? Seems just the other day we were 21 years young, just beginning the journey of our life. 🌞
