We had a pretty major snowstorm here on Wednesday.

Almost a foot of heavy snow, weighing down the branches on trees and ripping my cable line from the hook it was attached to on the house, stretching it across the street to the pole. We watched as cars drove under it, waiting for one of them to rip it down. Meanwhile, it was still working. Then the Police showed up, and with a snip, cut it down. There went the landline, TV, and internet service. That was Wednesday. Soonest the cable company can get here? Saturday afternoon.
I am an “old fashioned” girl who likes a computer and mouse and finds tapping things out on a cell phone an exercise in frustration. I am thankful my lights are on as around the corner a tree pulled wires down and out went the lights.
I am eating up my data on my phone with no Wi-Fi at home, but such is life, a girls got to do what a girls got to do. Check in with WordPress, emails, Instagram and Facebook. Google News, and weather.
The day of the storm my husband had a scheduled violin lesson, and rather than miss it he decided to walk the 3 blocks to the teacher’s house. I decided to go along, a nice way to spend an hour on a snowy day.
Oh and how long did it take me to write this post, which normally would have taken maybe 8 minutes? A half an hour!!! Until I figured out how to insert photos and continually correct autocorrect!!!

You did a fabulous job! I have started to only use my cell phone WordPress app as most of my pictures as of late are taken on my cell phone.
I sure hope your WiFi gets turned in soon!
The snow is very pretty!

Until we are able to generate our own WiFi — it’s coming soon — we are really the captives of our cable services. I live in fear for all the same reasons you do. My phone is an emergency prop, not a blogging tool!
Hope they get there really SOON.

I do almost all my blogging on my iPhone. It’s a matter of getting used to it and being extra diligent about proofing so that you catch those pesky autocorrect changes before you hit publish. Stay warm and dry.

I hope your cable service is back soon Lisa! Wet snow can do so much damage. Do you have an Instagram account?

Love so much about this (but not that you don’t have internet at the house. Of course not that.) 1. That your husband has violin classes. 2. That you went for the walk with him in the beautiful winter neighborhood. 3. That he carried his violin (I’m guessing) in a trash bag. 4. That you even attempted (and were successful!) to post using your phone!
Is there a library that is up and running nearby? They have wifi for free. And it’s warm there. And it’s always fun to spend time in a library. Just a thought.

Thanks Dawn!! Yes my husband has been taking lessons for 3 years, he also takes piano lessons , which he has been taking about 7 years. He did indeed carry the violin in its case inside a jumbo heavy duty garbage bag! I have been in school the last 2 days so used the computers there to check email and catch up on news…but the library is a great idea.

Hope you get Internet back soon! Lights on is good, particularly if you need electricity for heat!

I am glad you have heat and electricity. I saw the pictures in the news and was wondering about you. I prefer working on the computer as well, find my smartphone useful but it can’t (and won’t) ever replace my PC.

Thank you for “getting it”. This typing out on the phone makes me crazy and everything is too small for these old eyes 😉

I hate it when we have power blackouts… and to work just with the phone drives me crazy…. But it was a good idea to walk through the snow together, it has something special if we are the first one who leave footprints in fresh snow ;o)
btw: please be careful on snow&ice … because of…well you know ;O)
