Share Your World

What would constitute a “perfect” day for you?

Waking up, for starters, and then watching the sunrise over the ocean as I did on Monday.

Complete this sentence: My favorite place in the whole world…..

Home first, then the beach

Who was your best friend in elementary school (prior to age 12)?

Lauri- she lived 2 houses away and we were inseparable. By the time we were teenagers we went separate ways, hung out with different crowds. We reconnected a few years ago on Facebook and got together which was really nice.

What inspired you this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination. Watching this video of a 5 year old who loves to surfboard

      • I like Avon because there are less young people which can get a little crazy sometime unless you know where to sit. I like Belmar because they have restrooms every couple of blocks which they keep immaculate, a long boardwalk and a new pavilion. I like the neighborhood of Avon much better, wider streets and nicer homes. I don’t know about restaurants in Avon but Belmar has several good ones and the 15.00 season pass for seniors is a biggie. How much is Avon? But if I wanted to buy a second home I’d go to Stone Harbor..lol. Of course that’s a little further South.

      • The season pass in Avon was $49 for a senior- how could it only be $15 in Belmar? I love Avon’s pavilion and the bathrooms can’t be beat. (Liked them better than Belmar- but women are pickier I think) There is something about the actual beach at Avon I love- from ocean to street it is very wide and we sit on the border of Bradley so it is usually not crowded. Sundays in August were the exception to that.I agree Avon’s homes are beautiful, as are the older ones in Bradley towards the border of Avon. I am not familiar with Stone Harbor- will have to check it out! We drove through Spring Lake… now THOSE are houses! And such a quaint main street.

      • I love Spring Lake. Avalon/Stone Harbor is much further south..exit 13, I believe. We have rented homes in Stone Harbor in the past. If you like the homes in Spring Lake, Avalon/Stone Harbor be just as impressive, if not more so..:)
I don’t know how Belmar only charges 15 for seniors but I’m not complaining..:)

      • Stone Harbor is about 2 1/2 hours from us, so not for a day trip as Avon is. Maybe next year for an overnight though! I vacationed many years in Cape May which I see is not far from there.

  1. I liked that you were able to reconnect and meet again in person, Lisa. Lauri and you had a lot of good times, I’m sure.
I had neighbors with three girls, we all got along but having two brothers, I was so happy to have them to hang out in the summer as a girl. We stayed in touch through letters and I had a chance to see Beth and Amy again. My next best friend in time, Sandy moved far away to New Hampshire. Our family went to visit when we traveled to see our extended family in Massachusetts. We stay connected through annual Christmas letters and she reads my blog which has a live feed on LinkedIn. She’ll tell me how funny my dating posts are or how she likes to see my kids grown up. 💐

      • Yes, I was surprised about people who were from different places than my blogging community who liked my posts. Funny, it was called “live” since someone told me it comes out as people are looking at LinkedIn, instead of when it was posted. Like instant messenger, I suppose (?!) I don’t see the same results, since they are generated from my WordPress on the date published. . . If you check it out and find out differently this was told me by a good friend. 😁
