I am glad you don’t have hunters nearby, Lisa. I was mainly reflecting upon your comment that they didn’t notice you so close. It made me worry about
young deer who don’t seem to be as wary as they should.
Those are perfect words to describe them Paula. They were very close to me, I got out of my card and sensed movement only to look a few feet away to see them standing there.

This was a sweet capture, those two deer look young, healthy and gentle.

I think they were young, and very involved in eating so did not hear me approach!

So glad you caught them in your camera sights, Lisa. Also, happy there aren’t hunters who would choose to shoot young deer. 🙂

Yes, that makes sense. These two did run off a minute later!

You must be very fast responding to what you see. By the time I realized there was a shot to take, it would be gone.

I think they were so busy eating they were oblivious!

What a great photo, Lisa. If this were me, the deer would have scattered and I would have one blurry shot to show for it.

Ha ha Lois- they did run off soon after – but they were eating and distracted by it enough for me to get the shot!!

I agree and I loved to watch them, while I lived in Denmark, where I often met them.
