The Weekly Smile

One of the boys in my first grade class has a mild case of Cerebral Palsy which makes holding a writing instrument difficult as his hands and fingers are not that strong. He always perseveres and never lets it him stop him. Today he handed me a sheet of paper with something drawn on it, saying “This is for you” with a big smile on his face. I asked who it was and he said “YOU!” and his smile got even bigger. And so did mine.mefromshai

  1. This are really fun complaints. I have one drawn for me from a little girl met on a hosting job. At the time I invited them to a gathering to celebrate a Fish and Wildlife birthday, I didn’t know that the family had no food and where trying to go south to escape the cold weather. This information can to light during the 14 day they could spend at the refuge. Before they left the community help the family. She handed me the drawing as a goodbye. That was over twenty years ago. I still have the drawing and it brings a smile to me. Thanks for sharing.

    • I loved that he drew me with a smile! It is going well- the class is great- the head teacher a challenge to work with-very rigid and set in her ways and not so nice to the kids. Fortunately I am with her only in the mornings. My afternoon head teacher is a breath of fresh air- we are friends and have a great time in the classroom.

Thanks for stopping by-Would love to hear what you think!
