This week Cee asks:

What was one of your first moneymaking jobs (other than babysitting or newspaper delivery)?

I worked summers from the time I was 12 until 15, as an assistant in a playgroup with 4 year olds.  I loved the woman I worked with, a young teacher who picked me up every morning in her Kharmann Ghia, which was the coolest thing ever. I opened a bank account and saved up, it was a great feeling having my “own” money. Volkswagen_Karmann_Ghia_convertible_2

What is your favorite month of the year?

May, when spring is springing, the winter is definitely over, and the warm weather arrives. I love the beauty in everything blooming and the birds returning.062066

  2. Such a great experience, Lisa. I appreciate your starting at the age of my 2 oldest grandkids. (My son’s stepdaughter and my oldest daughter’s son.) They both help out with chores and watching younger siblings. The car is awesome! What a thrilling ride to work!
I like your nature and spice choices, although I rarely use tumeric or allspice.

    • It was a fun ride to work for sure! I started using Turmeric a few years ago, it is good for inflammation. I add it to Quinoa, in my smoothies, and when I roast cauliflower

  3. I thought those cars were the coolest, too. Never got to drive one, but I thought that must have been what Nancy Drew’s red roadster looked like 🙂

  7. OK that car is cool. You were lucky. I forgot ginger, darnit. I love ginger. I make my own ginger tea, I juice and cook with ginger. I can’t believe I didn’t mention it in my post.
