When do you feel most connected with others?
When we are sharing in a common experience together, either something positive like a celebration, or sadly grief over the loss of a friend.
What daily habit would you like to introduce to your life?
Meditation. I would like to be able to sit quietly and concentrate on breathing and blocking out “the noise” that takes up space in my head sometimes.
What one mini-little-adventure would you like to have in the coming week?
I have to admit I am not looking for any adventures at the moment- mini or otherwise! School is winding down and just being in 1st grade everyday is an adventure in itself!
List a list of things or events that changed your Life: It could be as simple as a book or meeting a certain person
Meeting my BFF
Meeting my husband

I started meditating a few years back and it made all the difference in the world. I feel more balanced. Give it a try, even though it will feel awkward at first.

Thanks for remembering Lois- and funny you should ask- I was going to write about him again today for the weekly smile. He is doing better- he was able to add 3 numbers together this week, and got most of the answers correct. It still doesn’t come automatically as it does for the other kids, but I really think he’ll get there.

My wife was a teacher for many years, and she misses it and the children, for the most part. She would say that it was the fulfilment of a life she dreamed of. But she also would not feel the same today with the politically generated changes, and environment. She has been retired for a few years now, and I believe was fortunate enough to be in the profession recognized a bit more than it seems to be today. She held her head high, for good reason – as should all those (as yourself, I’m sure) who nurture and inspire the greatest resource we have, the children. Marty

Thank you for such a heartfelt comment, I do take pride in what I do, and am glad when I help a child find his way through to a new understanding of something.
