Someone asked me if I mind walking by myself along the trail in the nature preserve I go to. I don’t mind at all, as the trail is not deep inside woods, I am always able to see the sky, and have become so familiar with the trail I always know where I am. I like to be alone to take in everything around me, without the distraction of talking to anyone. Besides, I am never really alone, just yesterday these were all the friends I shared my walk with.

You must be a very quiet walker to get so many great wildlife pictures. They don’t run away from you. That’s kind of amazing.

I try to be quiet and sometimes I will just stand there waiting for someone to show up! A zoom lens helps too! 🙂

Ohhh! I love this. This is how I feel in the woods, at the sea, wherever we are…

Even though I’ve learned over the years that it’s not always the wisest thing to do, I too enjoy taking walks alone. Nothing compares to that kind of peace and solitude. However, I have limited my mountain hikes to areas which are somewhat populated.

Sounds wise for mountain hiking! This trail is not long, and I always carry my phone. The solace can be a wonderful thing!

You have very nice friends to walk with Lisa. No trails like that around here.

I do like the friends I walk with! You need to go back to Michigan for these kind of walks 😀

What is that beautiful little gray bird? They are all so cute. I think that forest is the best place to be alone.

It’s a Cat Bird- their call sounds like a meow! It can be very disconcerting to hear it, but once recognized I love it!

How wonderful. Who wouldn’t love walking with companions like these? Reminds me of some of my walks as well, minus the deer. 🙂

The deer was a real surprise- I had never seen one there before!

Any time I see a deer, I consider myself very lucky – kind of like finding a 4-leaf clover – but I’m usually so dumbstruck, I miss the photo op. GREAT photo!!

I was so surprised- she was right on the trail where I was walking, but then moved into the wood – I was glad to be able to capture shots of her there

You were so lucky then that she didn’t bound away quickly like they normally do!!
