Shells, a skate egg case, some lost claws scattered on the beach…..
Sandpipers scattered about running in and out of the waves….

Lisa, I am really enjoying the scenery and wishing I were heading to Lake Erie, even if it wouldn’t have any cool shells or the skate egg cases! Smiles and have a wonderful Friday into a delightful Mother’s Day, too.

When did you change the theme? It looks different? I like your sandpipers. I think you captured them beautifully. Lovely example, DM. Thank you. (I like the new look here)

I changed it last week, maybe the week before- I just changed the color scheme, profile pic and header pic, but it seems to have changed the whole look even though it is the same “theme” page Thanks for noticing 🙂

As a kid at the beach I used to see dark objects like the one in the first photograph but not till now, these many years later, have I found out that they’re skate egg cases. Live and learn.

I am glad the mystery has been solved! I grew up summering on the beach and learned as a child what they were… seeing one as an adult brought me back to that time 🙂

Many things take us back to childhood, which is still always alive.
Your disembodied claw, by the way, reminded me of one that I came across not in childhood but a mere four years ago:

your claw was situated so beautifully on the dried algae. I always felt bad for the poor crabs that lost them
