The Common Grackle has a glossy-iridescent body- the color of Eggplant. They are a noisy bird and make themselves known once in a backyard, walking around with their long legs eating as they go.

All these birds of the crow family are incredibly smart. I have a photo somewhere of one eating a rat 😀 and yes, they are all so noisy. I hope they don’t wake you up.

It is in the family of blackbirds. They are funny to watch the way they strut around 🙂
