Nancy Merrill’s challenge this week asks us to Share two or more photos of the same subject at different distances.
I thought I spotted a Great Blue Heron on the bank across the river from where I was standing
When I zoomed in I saw it certainly was!

I like the way the heron stretched it’s neck and seemed to be really looking like it was “posing.” 🙂 Great photos and thank you for sharing them.

They are such interesting birds. And they stand very still for long periods at a time, which really helps we photographers. I’m glad there are still herons on Long Island. I used to love watching them in the salt marshes. Great pictures 🙂

I also love to watch them- as you said they just stand silently waiting for their catch under the water- they are beautiful!
