Daily Prompt: Nothin’ But A Good Time
Imagine that tomorrow, all of your duties and obligations evaporate for the day. You get the day all to yourself, to do anything you please. What types of fun activities would make your day?

Actually yesterday that is exactly what happened! My husband and I decided it was beach day! The forecast said partly cloudy, but we decided we would turn that around, partly cloudy also meant partly sunny. So we headed out early in hope that we’d have no problem getting a parking spot in our favorite free parking lot across the street from the beach.

The clouds were looking a bit ominous as we drove down the parkway, but when we pulled up in town, we were greeted with blue skies and sunshine.

We secured our favorite spot on the beach, close to the ocean, beachtimewhere we settled in for a relaxing day of reading and watching the sights going on around us on the beach. As always there was plenty to see.

The seagulls provide plenty of entertainment too, showing little fear of the people around them, or just flying in and landing on the rocks enjoying the view just as I was doing.

Perfect way to spend a day.

  1. Great day and cool photos. September is actually a great time to go to the beach. Less crowds and the weather is still nice. Which beach do you prefer to visit? We love Stone Harbor but it’s a,little too far for the day so we usually go to Belmar, sometimes Point Pleasant but mostly Belmar.

    • We have come to love Avon by the Sea-we found a parking lot across from the beach, and the beach is never too crowded it seems- and it is only an hour 15 from us.(usually 🙂 ) Years ago I went to Cape May for a week every summer- but that’s no day trip!!

      • I’ll have to visit one day. It’s funny how become accustomed to going to the same place after a while. I also like the town of Spring Lake but never sat on the beach there. Yes, Cape May, like Stone Harbor is too far for a day. We used to go to Seaside as teenagers but it’s not the same place any longer. Enjoy the beach.

  2. yes, I agree… and I can’t wait for september when dogs are allowed on the beach… it seems that the fresh breeze and the waves can wash away all that annoying things of daily life :o)

Thanks for stopping by-Would love to hear what you think!
