Cee’s Share Your World

Here are Cee’s questions this week:

What did you or did you not like about the first apartment you ever rented?

I loved that it was mine! Every time I would lock the door behind me I remember the feeling of disbelief that I was actually living in my own apartment. It was a 1 bedroom with a galley kitchen on the first floor in a complex of garden apartments. I loved it and set about immediately to making it “home” My only complaint were the heavy feet on the floor above my bedroom, and the washing machine and dryer were in the basement.

What kind of art is your favorite? Why?

I would have to say Impressionist.monet

How many siblings do you have? What’s your birth order?

I am the oldest, my brother was next, He died a few months ago, I wrote about it here, then 2 sisters. One 4 years younger, the other 10 years younger.scan0020 scan0010

  1. Your apartment was big and pretty! Mine was on the 2nd floor (of 3) right across from the elevator and next to the laundry room. I stayed for there for 1-1/2 years before I had to get out. Who washes clothes at 2 in the morning?!

  2. that was great to read about your first appartment, yours was much better than mine… instead of heavy feet I had the entrance of the appartment complex next to my bedroom… it was a sound of “guns” every night when they slammed the door :o(
I’m dreaming of a white laptop, but that’s a silly wish, it looks scruffy in no time when I really use it :o) btw: today summer sale started here… the town is a bughouse, no parking lot in front of the shoe store (buy 6 and get 60% off)… I’m totally cranky… had to drive home with buying nothing :o(

  3. The obvious love for your first apartment, still, makes me very happy, Lisa. 🙂

Sorry about your loss. I hurt for you. I am the oldest of my tribe as well, and my youngest sister is 10 years my junior! But we are just three. Your siblings photos are priceless.

Your hubby better go out and buy you that top tommorow, my friend.

    • Funny how that 10 year gap closes with age- it is still hard sometimes not to see her as a 12 year old. Being off from work for the summer makes it hard to stay out of the mall- tomorrow might be just the day for that top 🙂 That apartment was a major milestone in my life and I have 10 years of great memories there. My brother’s loss still seems unreal sometimes- hard to believe. Thanks for your thoughts
